About
From the vibrant urban landscape of Bandung, Indonesia, we are The High Temples. Our story began in 2018, a convergence that felt less like a plan and more like a discovery. What started as a supportive act quickly revealed itself as a distinct collective voice we were compelled to explore.
While you might hear us described as alternative unit, we see ourselves painting with a far wider spectrum of color. We weave together alluring sound designs, anchor them with a solid rhythmic pulse, and express ourselves through evocative lyrics. It's this blend that allows us to move beyond simple categorization and push the boundaries of what we can create.
We guess you could say our music sort of reflects this idea we came across – something about learning to just be, letting go of trying too hard to be someone, and seeing the beauty in the messy, everyday stuff.
For us, The High Temples feels like that space where all the noise in our heads, the thoughts and feelings that bounce around, finally finds a place to land, a way to make some kind of sense. We’re not out here claiming to have all the answers, just trying to explore the questions with our music.
Maybe that’s why, every now and then, someone tells us our songs click with them. Honestly, we're just making music that feels right to the five of us. But if our sonic explorations happen to help someone else feel like the noise in their head isn't so overwhelming, well, that’s pretty cool. We’re just figuring things out as we go, and if you find something in our music that helps you on your own journey, we're happy to be traveling alongside you for a bit.
